The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Bobbi Maynes, Scott Akin, Merlin Dixon, and Doug Birt. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Birt moved, seconded by Maynes to approve today’s agenda. along with the minutes of the October 26th meeting. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Karl McCarty, Secondary Roads Maintenance Supervisor, discussed his frustration with the Occupational Health Department of CHI in trying to schedule tests for post-offer/pre-employment exams for the two new hires. McCarty said he tried three times last week trying to get ahold of someone to make appointments and no one answered or returned the messages left. The board stated that he could use Greater Regional Hospital to get the recently hired employees to work, but Akin was going to take this information to the CHI Hospital Board to see what we can do to improve the process. Birt and Shipley voiced their concerns with constantly having these issues for the past 10 years.
Bill Lyddon, EMA director, updated the board on software upgrades and additional training for the radios.
Oral reports were presented by the board members as follows: Maynes – Crossroads, Oct 26 via zoom; and Dixon – E911, Oct 26 via zoom.
The next regular board meeting will be held on Tuesday November 10th at 1:00 pm to canvass the election along with regular business.
Dixon moved, seconded by Birt to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 am. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
