The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Doug Birt, Merlin Dixon, and Bobbi Maynes. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Dixon moved, seconded by Shipley to approve the day’s agenda along with the minutes from March 9, 2020 minutes. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Public Health Director Joan Gallagher gave the latest update on the Coronavirus Covid-19 and what precautions the county needs to be taking. Emergency Management Director Bill Lyddon also gave updates and guidance as to how the county should continue with minimal contact with the public. A press release from the Board of Supervisors will be ready by the afternoon.
Shipley moved, seconded by Birt to approve the invoices for the Special Election for Creston and Lenox Community School Districts. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to open the Public Hearing at 10:00 am for the FY 20/21 Budget. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried. There were no written or oral objections. Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to close the Public Hearing at 10:05 am. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Dixon moved, seconded by Birt to approve Resolution 2020-15 FY 20/21 Budget and 100% Appropriation. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Committee reports were given as following: Dixon – ATURA, March 10, Mt Ayr and Conservation, March 12, Corning; and Birt – Conservation, March 12, Corning.
