Board Minutes – June 22, 2020
The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Merlin Dixon, Doug Birt and Bobbi Maynes. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Dixon moved, seconded by Shipley to approve today’s agenda along with the minutes of the June 15th meeting. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Engineer Travis Malone updated the board on the current and upcoming bridge projects, Juniper Ave, and the EWP projects.
Malone presented for review and consideration a driveway policy.
Opening Bid Letting for EWP Project NR206114XXXXC014 for Bridges Douglas 17 (Aspen Avenue) and Prescott 13 (on 190th Street) started at 9:30 am. MLS Landscape and Design’s bid was not accepted or opened because it was delivered after the 9:00 am deadline. The bid from Peterson Contractors, Inc. was $277,395 for Douglas 17 and $208,117.50 for Prescott 13 for a total bid of $485,512.50. The engineer’s estimate was $756,985.00
Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to approve Resolution 2020-30 awarding bid to Peterson Contractors Inc for Bank Stabilization project number NR206114XXXXC014 for Douglas 17 and Prescott 13 in the amount of $485,512.50. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve Resolution 2020-31 approving plans, specifications and form of contract for NR206114XXXXC014 for Douglas 17 and Prescott 13. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.

Maynes moved, seconded by Birt to approve Liquor License LC0006376 for Happy Hollow Country Club. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to re-appoint Ben Mullen to the Veteran Affairs Commission for a three-year term. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Katrina Ogburn with Miltner Insurance and Kaci Kohler with ICAP updated the board regarding our Property and Liability Insurance.
Committee reports were given as follows: Shipley – Main Street, June 16; Akin – Southern Hills Regional Mental Health, June 19.
Shipley moved, seconded by Maynes to adjourn the meeting. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried. The next meeting will be held Monday, June 29, 2020, at 9:00 am.
