Board Minutes – January 27, 2020

The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Doug Birt, Bobbi Maynes. And Merlin Dixon. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve today’s agenda and to table the minutes from the January 21, 2020 meeting until further clarification from the compensation board can be obtained. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.

There were no public comments.

John McKean, Villisca Library Board Vice-President presented the Villisca Public Library Annual Report and budget asking.

Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve Resolution 2020-6 Participation in the Planning and Development Programs of the Southern Iowa Council of Governments.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Engineer Travis Malone discussed with the board ongoing road projects and the maintenance of the roads during the inclement weather event of the last week.

The Chair had the second reading of ordinance Chapter 24 Valuation of Property concerning Wind Energy Conversion Property. 

            Doug Birt presented the initial budget discussion for Adams County Commission of Sustainability.

            Claims were approved as presented.
