The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Doug Birt, and Bobbi Maynes. Merlin Dixon was absent. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve today’s agenda and minutes from the meeting on January 13,2020. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Janice Leonard presented the board with the Spring Lake park budget.
Engineer Travis Malone discussed with the board snow and ice removal. Secondary Roads have more sand and salt coming in today.
Chairperson Akin proposed the new ordinance Chapter 24 Valuation of Property concerning Wind Energy Conversion Property and the Board had the first reading of same.
Birt moved, seconded by Shipley to approve Resolution 2020-5 Elected Officials, Hourly, and Salaried wage increase for FY 20/21. The increase is a 3% for Hourly employees and the Attorney’s office, 0% for Board of Supervisors, and a $1500 increase plus 3% for the offices of Auditor, Recorder, Sheriff, and Treasurer. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Emergency Management Director Bill Lyddon discussed with the board the latest on the radios and said the completion date has been pushed back and will not be March. He also updated the board on FEMA projects.
Budget discussions were held.
Committee reports were given as following: Maynes – Courthouse Security, Jan 13, Corning; Akin – ACEDC, Jan 13, Corning, Emergency Management, Jan 15, Corning; Birt – ACCS, Jan 16, Corning; and Shipley – Loss Control, Jan 15, Corning, Adams Community Foundation, Jan 8, Corning, and Main St, Jan 14, Corning.
