Board Minutes – February 22, 2021
The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Bobbi Maynes, Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Doug Birt, and Merlin Dixon. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Maynes. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Birt to approve today’s agenda and the minutes from the February 16, 2021, meeting. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried
Discussion was held on the possibility of sharing an IT employee with Taylor County. Akin and Dixon will attend the Taylor County Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, February 25th to further explore the situation.
Birt moved, seconded by Akin to set the Public Hearing for the FY 21-22 Budget for March 15, 2021, at 10 AM. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Akin to approve the claims as presented. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.

Dixon moved, seconded by Birt to appoint Anita Mittag to a six-year term on the Adams County Judicial Magistrate Appointing Commission. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried. This rescinds the original motion made at the January 4, 2021 meeting appointing Wayne Rychnovsky, Anita Mittag and Rob Tucker as only one appointee is needed for the Commission.
Dixon moved, seconded by Akin to appoint Karl McCarty as the interim Weed Commissioner for the county. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Dixon moved, seconded by Shipley to approve Liquor License LC0042441 for the Corning Winery. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Engineer Malone presented a bid for the City of Corning/Hull Street Bridge Project. Dixon moved, seconded by Birt to reject the bid as it was 25% over the Engineer’s estimate. The project will be put out for re-bid in October. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
