The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Doug Birt, Bobbi Maynes, and Merlin Dixon. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Maynes. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Shipley to approve today’s agenda. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried. Akin moved, seconded by Birt to approve the minutes from the January 25, 2021, meeting. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried
During public comments, Conservation Director Travis Paul updated the board on the building project at Lake Icaria. The materials for the building have been delivered and construction should start in the next couple of weeks. Phone interviews will be beginning soon for the maintenance opening.
Secondary Roads Engineer, Travis Malone, presented two bids for a pintle hitch pup trailer: R-Way Trailers for $48,500 and Ziegler CAT Trail King for $37,141. Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to approve the purchase of a Trail King pintle hitch pup trailer. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried. Malone updated the board on a recent workplace accident and also on ongoing projects as well as those upcoming in the spring and summer.
Birt moved, seconded to Dixon to approve moving the Maintenance Employee from an hourly position to a salaried position. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Oral reports were presented by the board members as follows: Shipley – MATURA, Zoom, Jan. 26; Akin – 5th Judicial, Zoom, Jan. 28, Adams-Taylor Landfill, Corning, Jan 27; Maynes – Crossroads, Zoom, Jan. 25; Dixon – SCI911, Zoom, Jan. 27, Trolley, Zoom, Jan. 28.
The next board meeting will be held Monday February 8, 2021 at 9:00 am. Akin moved, seconded by Birt to adjourn the meeting at 10:10 am. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
