Board Minutes – December 28, 2020

The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Scott Akin, Leland Shipley, Doug Birt, Bobbi Maynes and Merlin Dixon. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Akin. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Shipley moved, seconded by Birt to approve the minutes of the December 21st meeting and to approve today’s agenda.  All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried. 

            Birt moved, seconded by Dixon to approve Karl McCarty’s employment contract for the upcoming year. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried. 

The Master Matrix for New Fashion Pork Confinement was revised and the board reviewed and scored the revised matrix.

Shipley moved, seconded by Birt to approve the Application for New Fashion Pork Confinement. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried. 

Shipley moved, seconded by Maynes to approve the Engagement Agreement with DA Davidson to begin work on a new TIF Project. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.

Travis Paul presented the Conservation Department budget request. 

Oral reports were presented by the board members as follows: Maynes – Industrial Wind and Solar, Creston, Dec. 16; Dixon – Southwest Iowa Trolley, via Zoom, Dec. 18; Akin – Southern Hills, via Zoom, Dec. 22.

Shipley moved, seconded by Dixon to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 am. All supervisors voted aye.  Motion carried.
