The Adams County Board of Supervisors met on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 9:00 am with the following members present: Leland Shipley, Scott Akin, Doug Birt, and Merlin Dixon. Bobbi Maynes was absent. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Shipley. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Akin moved, seconded by Birt to approve today’s agenda and the minutes from December 9, 2019. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Birt moved, seconded by Akin to approve Utility Permit 19-13 for Alliant Energy at 2201 Adams Union Ave. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
There are six project sites resulting from flooding in the spring of 2019 that fit EWP funding. The six sites will be broken down into three agreements as follows: 1) Bridge Prescott 13 on 190th and Bridge Douglas 17 on Aspen Ave, 2) Bridge Jasper 1 and Washington 12, and 3) Douglas 8 on Birch Ave and Douglas 4 on Chestnut. Birt moved, seconded by Akin to approve the six projects in three agreements. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Dixon moved, seconded by Akin to approve Resolution 2019-41 Transferring $300,000 from 36000 Radios, Road, and Conservation Houses fund from Rural Basic to Secondary Roads Fund for Juniper Ave. All supervisors voted aye. Motion carried.
Budget Requests were presented as follows: ACED & Tourism, Adams County Certified Local Govt. (CLG), Treasurer Office, Attorney Office.
Budget work session was also discussed.
Committee reports were given as following: Akin – Emergency Management, Dec 12, Corning; Dixon – IA Workforce Development teleconference, Dec 11, Corning; Shipley – Main St., Dec 10, Corning and Main St EV, Dec 11, and Corning; and Birt – Conservation, Dec 12, Corning.
