Adams County Supervisor Vacancy
The Committee of County Officers appointed Jerry L. Peckham to fill the position of Adams County Supervisor - District 5. He was sworn into office on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
According to Iowa Code 69.14A, eligible electors of District 5 may petition for a special election to fill this position within 14 days of the appointment or public notice, whichever is later. If a special election is requested, a petition must be received in the Auditor's Office by Thursday, February 23, 2012. This position will appear on the June 2012 Primary Election ballot as District 2 Supervisor, according to mandatory redistricting. District 5 consists of all of the City of Corning west of the centerline of Grove Avenue. A map showing District 5 is shown below. NOTE: CITY BOUNDARIES ARE NOT EXACT ON THIS MAP.

The two pictures below show District 2, which will be the vacant supervisor district on the 2012 Primary and General Election Ballots. The green areas are District 2 -- it includes all of Corning Ward 2 and portions of Jasper, Nodaway, and Quincy Townships.
